Back in 1976 i bought the Lionel U36B and the 13 state cars and caboose. I still have it and it is a wonderful set. I was wondering if Lionel should re-issue the set but this time with a scale locomotive and the cars being the PS1's that they have done over these past years plus a scale caboose. I also would like to see them issue the cars as 3 car sets issued over a couple of years as not to make the set too expensive. Now there is a fantasy set i can buy. How about you guys?

It would be better to buy and request authentic U.S.A. Bicentennial 1976 locomotives and freight cars. People still buy freight cars and locomotives fromt the 1970's such as the SD40-2, GP38-2, U30C, U33C and the PS-2-CD 4750 cu. ft. 3-bay Covered Hoppers.

New Boston & Maine and Conrail GP38-2s now available from Weaver Models:

http://www.atlaso.com/club.htm

The Atlas Golden Spike club is offering the Union Pacific 100 Ton Pullman-Standard 10,000 “New Family Design” Covered Hopper which is a red, white, & blue paint scheme.

Still have yet for Atlas O or MTH to announce these diesels in Bicentennial schemes:

CV GP9

DT&I GP38-2

GTW GP38-2

ICG GP38-2

SOO LINE GP35

There is also the DW&P bicentennial Wood-Sided Caboose.

Many other bicentennial freight cars to make.

Chicago & NorthWestern Trailer

C&NW GP18 Diesel

Which one? They did two, the fantacy PRR GG-1 and the real Conrail GG-1. If you are looking for a model of the the real Conrail Bicentennial GG-1, 3rd Rail did a small batch of them and one is currently on the bay; they are not cheap.

Saw that one on ebay. very tempting but a little too rich for my wallet.

I'm interested in the real conrail GG1 version.

Santa, can I win the lottery - even a little one Wink
