I have a es44 that I can't figure out .I have used another engine and traded every board and the harness to the shell .. I have changed every board and the front motor the shell works fine when plugged into another es44 shell ditch lights to. The ditch lights say there on according to the remote also tried a factory reset .. I checked all the wires there's no bad spots .. The engine runs fine just won't turn on the ditch lights ..

I didn't change the smoke pcb cause it smokes fine .. I am assuming it has nothing to do with the ditch lights.
How about the exact model number?
6-28398 #6436 bnsf es44ac this one might be going to lionel . Any help would be great ..
You did a whole bunch of things that I'm not sure from the description what you actually did. Did you really swap all the boards to another engine and still have the issue. Then you swapped shells and still had the issue? What exactly wasn't swapped? Sounds like everything was substituted and the problem didn't move, which doesn't really make much sense.
Is this the reset you did? Did you also hold AUX2 and call up the aux lighting menu? The ditch lights should be lower left, click the on a few times.

Yes I took all the boards out of other es44 the mother board and receiver and even the motor driver board .. Before I did this I hooked the bnsf shell up to the other engine and the ditch lights worked . I went to the second menu on aux 2 and made sure the ditch lights where on .. I did the factory reset twice .. I also check the harness and the 4 wires going to the engine are giving power . All the other lights on the engine work..
Fixed there was a wire in the wrong spot on the reciever board .. Wow . From now on I am checking the plugs before I do anything !
