Hey Bill,
God bless you and get well soon, you are in our prayers.
Ray
Age is a state of mind, not a number.
The calendar says I'm about to turn 69. In my mind I'm a LOT younger than that!
That's great. I've discussed this a number of times with some friends - although in our mid-60s, we think of ourselves like we're still 30. A youthful attitude is a wonderful thing.
Bill, best wishes for a quick recovery.
Breezinup, I think we all picture our selves in our minds eye as when we were at our peak. Not sure I'd want to be a kid forever as espoused by Farmer Bill and Rich, now 21 forever that's the ticket!
I like to think of myself as 21 with 34 years experience!
Jerry
When I was little I wanted to grow up, this crap ain't what I signed up for !
Boxcar, Praying for you to have a quick recovery.
BILL, get well soon, remember pace yourself. Thank you for all the help and patience with me, while working on the trains. Speedy recovery.
Bill, I wish you great luck in getting better. I am pulling for you.
my best,
Marty
OMG, I can't believe it.
We've spent hours talking about flying.
A great loss to our hobby!
WOW! That's Shocking! HE was a great, understanding, and patient man as I purchased many parts from him earlier in the year. God Bless and High ball!
This is too sad for words. I only recently did business with Bill and always looked out for his posts on this forum, which were always knowledgable and very much to the point. A great loss to the hobby. May he rest in peace.
Very, very sorry to hear this.
Bill was as helpful as a person could be and went above and beyond to help the electronically challenged folks like me.
God Bless.
That is a true loss for all the hobby, my heartfelt condolences go out to his family. I spent many hours on the phone with Bill just gassing about model trains and projects, I'll really miss those conversations!
sad news indeed. condolences to his family
Condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Bill. He is home . Jim & Colleen
Our condolences and prayers to his family and friends.
God Bless
Andre.
Bill has gone to the great train room in the sky where there are Lionel dealers on every corner and you never have to refill the smoke fluid
Sad indeed. Purchased once from him and had the items delivered before the money was even in his hands. A rare trusting soul.
I'm deeply sadden I also have spent hours just talking with Bill on the phone and was so quick to help if you had a problem that was confusing you about hooking up ERR. He will surely be missed as he was a large asset to the hobby and a great person from every means of the word.
Yep, I'd call with an order and he had it in the mail the same day that I put the check in the mail. That's the kind of guy that one deals with over and over again - and I did.
I also had a few general conversations with him; enjoyable and intelligent. Never met him, but it still puts a bit of gloom in the house.
Sad to hear he has passed. R.I.P. Bill. You never know when your time on earth is up.
My deepest condolences to his family, he will be missed.
I also had the pleasure of talking trains will BILL and also everything else, fishing Lake Erie, Cleveland Indians baseball, and drinking Ol Milwaukees. Great guy with a great sense of humor.
Say a prayer and give BILL a toot of the whistle when you run your trains next.
R.I.P. BILL.
Sad news indeed. Condolences to the family.
R.I.P Bill, A great guy to deal with.
I heard about his passing yesterday. Sad day indeed. I regret we never met in person.
Deepest condolences to his family.

Yes, he was a great asset to the hobby and anybody who has dealt with him could tell he was great guy all-around.
My sincerest condolences to his family.

Very sad loss.
My condolences to Bill's family.
RIP Bill...he was truly GOOD PEOPLE
Hello everyone, this is Tim, Bill's son. As you know by now my father passed early Tuesday morning. His death was swift and took us all by surprise. He was sent to a hospice facility in Sandusky Ohio which he was not happy with until I google mapped it and he found out there was a train yard in close proximity and he could see the trains go by. He was scheduled to be brought home Tuesday afternoon but the last whistle came too early. Reading these messages, I want to thank you all for your kind words. He was truly an amazing father, grandfather, husband, and of course train guy. I realize some of you may have repairs at his house. Please email me at mttp6@hotmail.com and I will get them back to you after the first week in October. If you would like to send condolences to my mom please do so here

I'm sorry about Bill and i didn't know him that long but he was a great guy and helped me with repairs and parts and we talked on the phone for hours. Sending prayers for Bill and his family!!!
I had the opportunity to talk to Bill just once yet from that conversation I immediately realized Bill lived and loved his passion of trains. He will not only be be missed for his knowledge of model trains and fairness to others but most importantly for being an all around truly nice and engaging gentleman. Model railroading has lost yet another pillar of knowledge and expertise. My sympathy and condolences to all fortunate to have crossed his path and especially Bill's family and close friends.
Thank you very much Tim for the thoughtful post. As you can tell your Dad was very well thought of here as wonderful guy even by the many of us who never actually met him.
God bless you and your family as you deal with the situation there.
Many of us were of his generation - what age was he please?
Bill will be truly missed. Always read his posts and did some business with him. Great to deal with and always helpful.

He did some custom work for me last fall and I was planning more work for him after he got better. Sad to hear he isn't with us anymore.

His obituary (http://www.norwalkfuneral.com/obituaries.php?id=923) said 64, c.sam. Way too young for anyone to be called from friends and loved ones.
I, too, am greatly saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Like many others on the forum, I spent many hours in telephone conversation with Bill. If I called to order a part, or to ask if he could get it, we could talk for a half hour or more, before I got to tell him why I called. If I needed advice, on a project I was working on, I could call Bill. He was a "go to guy". Always helpful. I am sorry I never had the opportunity to meet him.
My condolences to his wife Agnes, his kids, and grandkids (whom he liked to talk about).
George
Very sad news. I dropped off something at Bills house when I was going to Ohio and talked to him for a while. He was a very nice guy. He gave me tour of the layout of the layout that he was building. A big loss for us. My condolences to his family.
