Hi all new to this just purchased some lionel newer trains my question is I have smoke comming out from under boiler, took off top of loco and could see smoke comming from around piston area, smoke stack is in perfect alignment, not over full train is from 2006 light use number 2314 u.p. berkshire what's wrong ty for ur help

I'm not sure they're designed that way, but a lot of them do that. And I personally think it looks fine.  As Steam Crazy mentioned, it gives the appearance of steam coming out around cylinders.  Usually it's certain models that tend to do that more than others. Has to do with the airflow and the piston sucking smoke down into the chamber on the downstroke.  The pistons are sloppy fit and it will leak out past the piston.
