I'm sure you could upgrade it, might take some custom wiring to get it done.  You'd obviously have to run the motor wires back in a tether to the trailing unit.  I suspect you'd probably want to run some lighting back that way as well.

 

You may be able to use the existing 4-pin tether to get the job done.  I'd probably be looking for directional lighting, etc. so I'd use the 10 pin tethers myself.

 

You can do it just using the 4 pin connector wiring to the rear motor.  You need to add two diodes off the rear motor leads to create the Positive voltage used for lights and couplers, so you still would have 2 control wires available for direction lights such as reverse light or cab lights etc....  Don't remember what is on the rear of the Zephyr.  G
