Lobaugh prewar Shell tank car… well and a bunch more stuff… the Marnold transformer will go on my outside third rail upper level. Hiawatha came from Carey Williams as did the trans and DL-109.

Thanks, Bob. Actually, after he told me what the abbreviations stood for above, Tom @PRR8976 sent me an email with that link. I’m going to have to see if any of my other Pennsy steam power have marks.
@mike g. posted:Paul that is a wonderful looking engine! It should look great on nice big curves!
You know you and Bob have one wondering if Mrs. RSJB18 and Mrs. Apples55 ever get the urge to talk on the phone? LOL
Thanks, Mike. I have O-72 and O-84 curves, so it should look great. Since the M1’s were apparently for passenger service, I’ll have to pull out some of my Pennsy varnish to run with the M1.
As for “Mrs. Apples55”, that train left the station a long time ago. Nowadays, my train budget is strictly between me, God, and my bank… not that I would ever recommend divorce to anyone
Here's the latest from our friends over at Trainz.com. Over the years I've picked up a number of the K-Line, WP Feather box cars. I always thought I'd mix them in other trains, especially my UP1996 SP Heritage SD90, by Williams. Well a recent purchase of two more Feather boxcars had me review my WP and SP rolling stock. My reaction, instead of "We're gonna need a bigger boat!", "I'm gonna need another train!" and the search was on for a WP engine to proudly pull those feathers around the layout. It became apparent rather quickly that a Silver Engine with an Orange stripe pulling a string of silver box cars would look as exciting as a black engine pulling a string of oxide red box cars. Ah thank goodness for Heritage paint schemes. I remember how exciting these schemes were when they first hit the market. Even though I wasn't a UP or western road kinda guy they were good looking. I had to have one but which? The SP won out over the WP and the Rio Grande. So now that I needed a WP engine the heritage scheme is what I was looking for. I found a number of the Lionel and MTH versions for sale but I tend to stay in the shallow end of the pool so I was on the hunt for a Williams. I found one in the Private Car over at Trainz. Not having the free drink wrist band I would have to wait until the cash bar opened up, which just happened to coincide with the last day of 10% discount.
It just so happened that Trainz also had a Lionel caboose dressed alike so it went in the cart too.
It looks like some over zealous switcher crew backed a train into this caboose ar a high rate of speed causing a derailment and some damage to hand rails and the roof walk. Well like I said in the past, every train item I own needs to be on the workbench.
Not pictured but part of this buy, a K-line streamliner RPO interior and a Lionel 20TH Century Limited "drum head" for two other projects being planned.

Only driven to Church on the weekend by a little old lady......
You're gonna need a bigger bench soon Joe.

I've been keeping the voices in my head quiet for the most part but I have been lurking around the usual haunts.
Been looking for a steam switcher for a while that won't require me to remortgage the house, from any of the roads that I run, and I finally found one on Trainz site. Perfect timing with the 10% discount sale last week too!
MTH New York Central USRA 0-6-0 with PS2-5v. It needs to be serviced and I'll install a BCR before I apply power. The engine is in good condition with just a few scratches. I hope to get it running tonight.
I know the NYC was a conglomerate of other railroads but I can't find what line CR & IRR is. I'm sure I'll get an answer in 3....2....1......

Nice finds........
I finally broke down and bought on of these.
Been wanting one for a while. I know, I know, it will be a major PITA. But I have found some threads on it and the pesky pump that will need replaced. Oh well, I like a challenge.

Love It but It would have more character with a slope back tender
Finally bought my first brand new Lionel in the LionChief 2.0 flavor. Needed a BNSF to pull my MTH spine set! This ET44AC does the trick. Lots of great features and looks for an engine south of the $400 price tag.

Agreed I'd prefer a slope-back on a switcher but these are prototypical of USRA designs so I'm fine with it.

In the words of Model Railroader It's your railroad so how you want to run it is perfect.

Wow, Beautiful buys guys, and for the last few months I’ve been helping friends liquidate their loved ones trains. This little steamer was purchased during that time and Pat, CEO at Harmonyards put this little steamer in great running condition. It’s a Lionel Legacy Western Maryland #6 Shay, and I love it. @RSJB18, Bob, that’s a beautiful 0-6-0 Steamer and looks great on your layout. Happy Railroading Everyone

Hate to be looking in the horses mouth, but could we have more of that shay, please
That's a beauty Larry!
My most recent purchase is a pair of New Haven Railroad Alco PA diesel locomotives – road numbers #0767 and #0770 (MTH 20-21889-1 and 20-21890-1, PS3) – in the railroad’s 1948 orange and dark green paint scheme with silver-gray pinstripes. They are a custom run by forum sponsor MrMuffin’s Trains – shown on my 12’-by-8’ layout

Yea won 2 engines on eBay. 621 LN and 681 mint. I’m excited to get them
These items are unremarkable, in the sense of rarity or value, but I’ve been trying to obtain one or the other of the pair for quite a while. To my surprise, both showed up on eBay, the same day, and both had “make an offer” option. I went kinda lowball on both, fully expecting to be declined, and I would have to work my way up the price ladder. I only wanted one, and was surprised when both offers were accepted. Only differences I can see are the door, the road numbers, and the sheen of the paint. Both arrived in mint condition, as advertised.

Just got these from forum sponsor Mr. Muffins. They are Atlas O Premier cars. Steve had them on sale in one of his recent email newsletters (if you don’t subscribe, I’d highly recommend doing so - can’t believe how many things he has that you never knew you needed ). They fit perfectly into one of my current themes - railroads that ran through my little corner of NE Pennsylvania. It’s interesting that the boxes refer to the set as Fallen Flags Anthracite Roads “Alternative History”. I love the bright colors and clear, crisp markings. As is typical with Atlas cars, there is plenty of delicate applied detail.

@Apples55 Nice looking cars Paul!
Just got these…
TMCC/Railsounds, everything works, no wear on rollers or wheels, basically like new… only problem is now I need the cars and the train fund is empty…

Even though I am not a fan of "E" units them is mighty pretty

Bob,
Bruce did a great job on this book. I helped out a little on the scale and semi-scale steam switchers and was glad that a 701 scale switcher made it on the cover.
