Picked up a Rail King Scale Santa Fe zebra stripe RSD-5 with PS3. It's a custom run for forum sponsor @Berwyns Toys and Trains. Really nice model.

A set of Marx HO scale automobiles.  These were used on the Marx HO Auto Loader and are extremely rare.  For the time they were made, 1957 - 1965, they are very good vehicles.  Got them for a very good price.

Picked up an almost-new D,L&W Lionel Northern (6-18003).  I had one for 20+ yrs but sold it, and then missed having it around.😢
  This one needs some “not-run-in-forever” TLC - which it will certainly get.

My God that are Gorgeous, and yeah I do know what it's like when something is missing from your near position, hopefully my item will be back from the Repair shop soon.

After 2 years I got my Shay locomotive.I  put in moderately low bids on a short list of things I am looking for at trusted auctions. Outbid over and over.  But not this time. 😁 It still took most of my budget for the Trainapolosa show in Grapevine TX next weekend.

Shelf queen and unrun from all that I can tell.  26 years in the box.  Packing material between the loco and tender turning to goo.  Box falling apart.    Avoiding go fever until I can replace the battery and check the grease, wires etc.   Hope it runs as good as it looks.  MTH 20-3023-1 with Protosound 1.

At the TCA Atlantic division show today, I bought a Lionel 151 semaphore and 153 block signal, my first of each. The block signal works, but I need to address chipped paint on the red bulb.  The 151 needed lube for the blade to return to vertical, and some repair to get the light to work. I plan to use these on my Christmas tree layout in December, with two trains on each loop, one apparently stopped by red signal. For $25, tremendous play/operating value. As a bonus, the 151 came with an original box. Even more fun to be the one who made the 151 work.

I was just adding trains to my hobby shop offerings around when these were introduced. It was impressive at the time but even then I thought the tiny diminutive pilot wheels were awful looking on such a massive brute as this!    If you come across something larger and replace them, it will drastically improve the overall appearance.

Bought this 3rd Rail/Sunset ATSF 4-8-2 Early Mountain Locomotive.   Scott Mann and the team went above and beyond on the details on this steamer, I am really blessed to have had the opportunity to buy it....

I went to a local train show here in Myrtle Beach on Sunday.  I was on the hunt for some Weaver 20th Century Ltd aluminum streamliners to go with my newly acquired Dreyfus Hudson and a couple of Plasticville fire houses for a kitbash project I have in mind.  I didn't like my odds but you never know, I got my Lionel 785 at this show last year. Well I don't think I saw any Weaver product and the only vendor with fire houses wanted full retail for a modern one and more than I wanted to spend on one that's older than me.  All was not lost when I spied this PWC series Air Force switcher. Since it's taking me forever to finish converting a RMT Beep into Air Force colors I brought this home to honor my daughter's time in the Air Force.

It just came home and already it's been added to the project list.  It needs windows and some detailing.  If I can come up with a decent motor screen the windows will be clear, maybe a crew, if they fit and some details on the deck.

Wow! I spent some money yesterday and very happy with the purchase!  This rocket booster train has been on my purchase list ever since I first saw the MTH version a few years ago.  Now I have it (albeit in Lionel) and am ready to take apart the rocket pieces from the cars and build the rocket. This fits in perfectly with my Menards Saturn V launch tower and my K-Line mercury style rocket.  It also fits with my Lego model of the Saturn V and Paper model of the SLS rocket.

What makes this train so special is I used to work for the company that produced those rockets for the Shuttle program. I met my wife there and 34 years later she is still with me despite this hobby and my crazy passion for the space program.

My buddy Rudy had to check it out first and make sure everything was ok before I opened the box.  

I also need to add the appropriate amount of passengers to the passenger car.  From what I remember there was a couple that engineered the train and the company sent 3 or 4 more along to inspect the cars during the trip.  
Anybody know where I can find some passengers for the car?  I probably need more than the 6 for other passenger cars so looking for a larger buy.

Any chance of seeing a picture of your cars ? I often wonder if these cars are correct for my Marx HO auto loader?

I picked up these two wrenches in a box of random tools.  When I finally looked at them, pretty nice.

I know about that one Don but I didn't buy one when they came out and now they are the proverbial hen's teeth.  I can't seem to find one on Trainz or eBay so I'm making one out of a blue PRR shell from Kusan.  I'm trying to make it look as good as that one.  I got one side done but after a mishap with the decals on the other side I set it aside to regroup.  That was months ago.  I've got to get the decals finished and clear coat the shell, then figure out the hand rail situation.  One end rail is broken and the RMT rails don't fit the Kusan holes.

It just came to me.  Can I suggest that you actually name the locomotive after your daughter.   Including making a decal with her name on it and putting it on the loco.   I repaint most of my locomotives and I usually do name them,  and due to your influence I will name the next one after my step son in law. who "swallowed the Anchor" about seven years ago. one of the proudest moments of My life. In his case It will have to be a long loc , because his first name has seven letters and his last has nine

Gutersnipe, I'll keep that in mind and see what I can do on the Beep I'm re-decorating.  But this car came home because she's got the same name as my daughter, Jessie.

WOW what great finds everyone! It sure seems like a lot of steam engines are showing up! They all look wonderful!

Thank you. If I have your permission I Might repaint an observation car and name it after her.  Or maybe that  B 47 that I've been planning to build for a couple of years now, night have to lift the image off the box car for nose art.

Luckily, my cars are NOS, so all I’ll need to do is give them a good oiling before I run them. I got a NIB Lionel 27210 PRR PS-1 boxcar from an auction on eBay (I was the only bidder so the price was decent), which has a simulated load.  I'm pretty impressed with the separately applied details.

In contemplating a new layout, I spent last month acquiring Ameri-Towne kits and fronts for a small town and industries. I got some from forum members and a few others from eBay. The prices for these things are all over the place. The most recent purchase, and last for now, was for the lot pictured - 2 window walls, Homestead Furniture Factory, and Barrettsburg Tool & Die. Total cost including shipping was under $70.

Now I just need to begin putting these and other kits together. Latest model railroading report card from my wife says I'm pretty good at thinking about a layout in my head (B+), better at impulsive buying (A), but not quite as good at putting thoughts and products into action (D). Still, she thinks I have potential.

Got this little K- Line Plymouth switcher on Valentine’s Day . Has ( I guess), a Seuthe type smoke unit in it !😳🚂🚂🚂🚂

That seems to be a common affliction among model railroaders.
