So, I connected my CAB-1 and fired up this engine:  http://www.lionel.com/products...diesel-9129-6-18271/   This is all new to me, but so far very impressive compared to the Lionel set I had when I was a kid!  I read there are templates that go over the CAB-1 controller that are essentially a 'cheat-sheet' to show what numbers 0 through 9 do.  Does someone have a template that can be printed from home to place over CAB-1?   I could make one up myself, but thought I'd save myself some time.

Available Overlays from Lionel.   Shipping may be a killer though!

I try to remember that shipping is less expensive than driving to South Carolina...

Why south Carolina? I thought Lionel was in North Carolina

Oh...I lost track when they left MI

Richard,

I have several Diesel Overlays you can have as well !

Fredstrains

If you need one for your cab 1, I have some steam/diesel overlays and your welcome to one of each. (Larrylevin71@yahoo.Com) Send me your address. As Gunrunner John said, it’s going to become natural once you’ve ran your trains for awhile. These little overlays work on cab 1, cab 1L remotes. Command control is the best way to have fun running our trains in my opinion, great Question. Happy Railroading Everyone
