I have older TMCC power masters that I would like to use with the Base-1L Cab-1L unit as well as older TMCC ASC1. Can this be done with a 996 power master bridge and if so what is needed? Or is the only real solution to go with the #990 set up? Thanks for any help.

You will need the 990 if you want to use the TMCC Powermasters, I had to sell the TMCC equipment I had when I got the Cab 1L. The 990 has a cable that you can use to make the needed connections. Maybe someone has come up with a hack for this situation.

I do have the Y cable from the 990 set that I picked up. but doesn't seem to get a signal from the 1L base.
I converted to Legacy from TMCC several years ago. I purchased the Powermaster Bridge and have it connected to the Legacy 990 Base ,using the "Y" cable, so I could use my five TMCC Powermasters. I also control 32 switches. All works flawlessly. By using the 990 Legacy Base and the PM Bridge, which when produced, sold for less than $60.00, I saved the cost of new 1L Powermasters, approximately $500.00. Since the 1L Base does not have the full capabilities of the Legacy Base, I don't think you will be able to reach your goal without purchasing the #990 Base. There are folks on the forum who are much more knowledgeable than me on this subject, so if I am incorrect, please chime in.
Personally, though I haven't actually tried it, I can't see why the 'Legacy Lite" BASE1L/CAB1L won't talk to the #996 Legacy PowerMaster Bridge. The serial data should be compatible.
