Has anyone heard when the next Cab3 / Base3 update will be out, it has been awhile?

Talking to lionel at the big E, there is an update in the works but they didn't provide a release date.
One would hope there's an update in the works, because what we have now is hardly 100%!
If the update isn't posted in 2 -3 weeks....................................................................................................just wait longer.

We are working on the TR issue and an update will not be released until TR is working the way we want it to work. Getting close on it, but we have to thoroughly test. Should see an update before the end of March.
Just VENTING a little. 🤦♂️
Thanks @Dave Olson! We appreciate you!

Thanks Dave for the update!
@Fredstrains, I work on product development and while you say a month, in reality that is only 2 development sprints. Where I work, I have a team of developers, and it could take 2 sprints just to test a release. I would imagine the budget for development at Lionel is slightly different size so therefore their timelines might not be as short.
As @gunrunnerjohn says above, we all know there are things that could be improved or new things that could be added to the Base3 / Cab3, but Dave has to prioritize that work and, given his development capacity, make trade offs on what gets worked on vs what is put in the backlog. The key to me is that Lionel has and continues to iterate and improve the Base3 / Cab3.

One more piece of info. The upcoming update will have many changes to Wi-Fi to improve connection reliability. The APP will also automatically reconnect to the Base3 when the screen is turned back on (after putting your device screen to sleep). The APP will also auto-reconnect when you open it up after being minimized.
The APP cannot stay connected in the background or when the device screen is asleep. Those are limitations by the device OS. But we made it so it auto reconnects quickly. Trying to make the best user experience.

This is about the best you can do. Some phones and tablets allow you to configure the Wi-Fi to remain on while the device is in "sleep" mode, but that drains the battery pretty quickly, which is why it's turned off by default or not even an option to enable.

Bravo Dave! I for one understand the challenges to conforming to an integration platform like the iPhone but that was a choice Lionel chose to make (not a criticism). I suspect as iOS evolves this will continue to come up. Hopefully Apple will have some innovations to actually ease Cab3 challenges. And then there is Android...
Thanks for the update Dave.
