I found the instructions for setting max speed on a TMCC engine if you have a Cab1, but it doesn’t seem to work with a Cab2. Engine is Atlas Trainman Dash 8 20032008. Running as TMCC, 32 step, on Cab2. Appreciate any suggestions.

Drop your track voltage to the maximum speed you want?
Electrocouplers seem to need 9-10 volts to operate reliably. Engine speed still too fast at that setting for young grandkids.

It's should be the same keystrokes on the CAB2. I've never had occasion to set the maximum speed, I'll have to try it.

Those are the instructions for setting the speed limit on a Legacy engine. I am trying to set a speed limit on a TMCC engine using a Cab2 instead of a Cab1.

The only keystroke that is done on the Cab1 that can’t be done the same way on a Cab2 is when you should press the boost “button” once. At that point the horn should sound, the engine stops and the max speed is set. The boost on Cab2 isn’t a button. When the slider is momentarily moved to boost, the horn sounds, the engine accelerates and the max speed is not set.
I set the speed limit on my TMCC engines all the time using those instructions. Now what I am not sure of is if this is a function of the remote/ base vs the engine but it does work for me.
