My CC 726 berk runs really well. However the headlight flickers in a steady pattern. Also the smoke output is extremally weak. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well, the LCRU2 does support feature codes, I've seen arguments counter but it does, so set feature code 4 for steam.
0 = STEAM WITH SIGNAL SOUNDS
1 = DIESEL WITH SIGNAL SOUNDS
2 = DIESEL WITH CAB LIGHT AND SIGNAL SOUNDS
4 = STEAM WITH SMOKE
5 = DIESEL WITH STROBE LIGHT
6 = DIESEL WITH CAB LIGHT
As far as blinking headlight- 2 things causes that, #1 receiving TMCC commands causes a blink but also #2- are you sure you did not set into "stall speed" setting, as that also blinks the light until you finish the last step of programming.
Feature code list and programming- if you own TMCC engines, you need this list

Video on setting stall speed in a TMCC engine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3HmEZ_qw5Y
Again, first thing I would do is reset the engine to address 1 and set the feature code 4.
Test and see if that solves the problem.
Then program to the ID you want to use.
Also, engine manual https://www.lionelsupport.com/...ents/71-8053-250.pdf
Page 10 covers stall setting programming and that causes the headlight to blink or flash in that programming mode.

Thanks Vernon. I forgot to mention I am operating conventional using an MTH Z 1000

OK, so the smoke unit may operate weakly- because it's a 27Ohm puffer unit further driven off the TRIAC of the LCRU so not getting full power and you are running in conventional where in many cases, you are likely 12-14V average power given the typical speed of this engine.
