Currently inside the engine. I thought this would be a common part folks would know for the scale NYC kline hudson. I didn’t realize these switches were actually called cherry switch, I thought that was a Lionel term.
Mike, I have the same loco and decided not to replace the common failure cherry switch. Instead, I went with the JW&A Chuff Generator with programmable chuffing. Yes, I am biased and love John, his products and all he does to support this forum! Good luck with the fix!

If you want a replacement switch, send me an email, I have lots of them. Of course, like others, I'm kinda' biased for my Chuff-Generator and the Super-Chuffer II, but that's another topic.
