I guess I forgot that ERR once sold a DC Commander, that was distinct from the more advanced "Cruise Commander."

That being said, what was the advantage of buying an AC Commander instead of the DC commander to control a Pullmor-motored loco?  I know that Pullmors will run on DC; some say they run better on DC than they do on AC !!

Because it wouldn't have a reverse function without some extra wiring.  The AC Commander has three leads to reverse the armature phase for AC motors.  After adding the bridge, the DC Commander wouldn't have that ability.
