I wonder how hard it would be to do a Brick in Lightning Stripes? Cigar Band? Century (jade) Green!?

I saw the blue and yellow Santa Fe caboose on your layout photos, who makes that ? I will soon have the Sunset 3rd Santa Fe #5021 and would like to add that caboose behind it.

Ok, they are nice. I saw them at Amtrak in Houston on Sat. But the sad fact is that NEITHER engine were ATSF. But one would look great in SP Black Willow!

Hi Tiffany. I think its a RK from many years ago but don't know for sure - its packed away so I can verify that for you, sorry.

Getting a Y3, but it'll be N&W. My deep flange stuff tends to be eastern roads, scale is midwest and western.

A Lionel Postwar 622 with large Marx ATSF caboose.
A custom Marx "MOW" engine made from junk parts, with tinplate snowplow (featuring real 1:1 rust). "She gave years of good passenger service and has now been demoted, rusty and weathered, to backup MOW service".

Don, just pick one that looks good to you. The red mixed by the manufacturer for real Santa Fe locomotives did not look exactly the same after application. When Santa Fe painted a rednose with DuPont Duco, they masked the warbonnet outline and sprayed black where the stripe and the nose herald would be. They masked the black and painted the entire warbonnet yellow. Then they masked the yellow and painted the red. This was done to ensure a consistent shade of red throughout the warbonnet. The red over the yellow caused the actual color to be a little bit warmer than the red color shipped by the factory.
Second generation rednoses, painted with Imron and given a clear coat, did not display the slight color shift, and I am not even sure that they needed to paint the entire warbonnet yellow under the red.
