I buy and sell pre-owned Lionel trains and have had more than a few locomotives (Dash 8-40C, etc, and even the F3 Celebration Series) that will only run in forward. I have adjusted the slide switches but this does not change. I've noticed that when this happens, the locomotives do not go into neutral when I use the transformer directional button or when I use the throttle to run-stop-run. Each time I use either the button on the transformer or the throttle lever, the engine runs in forward with no neutral or reverse. I would appreciate any input on if this is a common issue or if there is a solution I can try to remedy this issue. Thanks for your help.
