Question: Who makes the best looking most prototypical Great Northern Railway Empire Builder (Green and Orange in colors) passenger sets in O scale?

I am not a rivet counter or an expert on the Great Northern Empire Builder, but if you want my vote for pure looks, it is this one. The very rare K-Line 21" set.

The K-Line set had the nicest cars and was a reasonably complete consist, but the coloring, particularly the "Dulux" (yellow/gold) used for the stripes and lettering was terrible. It was yellow-green, which you can see if you look at the pictures closely (almost a safety green tint). I sold mine for that reason. The Weaver cars' painting is much better, but they lack interiors and a full EB consist.
I am holding on to hope that Sunset/3rdRail or Atlas will get around to doing the Empire Builder. I just hope they don't hit me with the Empire Builder and North Coast Limited at the same time!
You got me - my K-Line cars, my scratchbuilt dome car, and my Third Rail GN electrics all have the same color stripes.
Stripes are fairly easy to do with these new decorator paint pens. I first stripe in white, let it dry for a week, and then put yellow over it. I of course use a straightedge, or specially cut curves for the Diesel nose.
"I did not know it was rare, but me too"
Bob, I regularly stay in touch with the K-Line secondary market and the 21" GN Empire Builder cars just don't show up. So I consider them to be rare, very rare.
I just hope they don't hit me with the Empire Builder and North Coast Limited at the same time!
AMEN!!!
There was a "Sun River" coach on eBay a couple weeks ago - I think it went for just over a hundred. Not much money for a rare piece. I think I bid $75.
