Using these in a new Cab-2 and recharging them on the command base without issue. I usually use an external charger but curiosity got the better of me. Any reason to expect a future problem if I continue using the base charger with the 2300's? And if we're keeping score, the legacy set showed up with a few scuff marks on the Cab-2 but everything seems to be working fine. Rich

If they work fine and charge properly, I wouldn't worry about using them. I'm using several sets of Tenergy rechargeables in a couple of my remotes, they work fine.
In another recent post someone said Lionel told them not to use Eneloop batteries in the Legacy 990. The reason was unknown, just what Lionel told someone about their Legacy 990. The thread didn't mention any other batteries that should not be used. You might find it by searching 'eneloop' (if I spelled it correctly, that is. It was within the last couple of weeks.
grj and rtr12: thanks for responding. I guess the fine print on rechargeable batteries really does matter. Rich
