I recently installed a Railsounds Commander board (med steam). When I apply power to the track the speaker beeps on and off continuously. If I disconnect the power to the Railsounds Commander the Cruise Commander will function properly. I can control the engine speed and change direction. If I plug the sound board back in I get continuous beeping. I changed the wire harness that connects the Cruise Commander to the Railsounds Commander with no change. I also changed speakers. I still get beeping. I’ve done many ERR conversions and this is the first time I’ve had this issue. Any Ideas on other things I could check?

Check for ANY grounds on the wrong wires, that would be my top suspect. A speaker shorted to ground is a common issue.
Does the problem manifest itself if you just leave out the serial data connection? Plug in the speaker and power and see what happens.
I took the beeping sound board and tried it with an old DC Commander instead. I got the same beeping with the old DC Commander that I got with the Cruise Commander
Weren't some of the wiring harness in the serial data connection side at the railsounds lite board wrong?
That's why @gunrunnerjohn was saying specifically test the railsounds board with ONLY the power and speaker connectors plugged in- basic process of elimination.
Thank you Vernon but my wire connector has all its wires in the right place.

Still, it can’t hurt to try and rules out a lot of other potential problems.
