I added the dummy sensor track and did as you described. When I set the action on the dummy track and return to the active track the, the action is where it was previously set and is correct. When I go back to the dummy track from the active track the action remains to what it was on the active track not what was previously set..
If I add a dummy sensor track. Track 8 which is NOT actually there. When I select track 8 and tell it to blow the whistle LTR. Then I select track 10 which is there, track 10 will tell me what it is set to do. The track 8 tab, when I go back to it, will always display what track 10 is actually set for because I assume it's not really there to get the correct info as you described. So other than not getting the engine data, the program does seem to know what sensor track 10 is set to do.
I'm at work and will play more this evening.
The iPad app is receiving the road name and ID. Did not check with Cab 2 although I suspect, but cannot confirm at this moment, it is as well.
Thanks for the support! We'll get it figured out but I hope the LCS order isn't the issue because I suspect folks with a layout in place won't want to move things around.

Well let me ask this, when I add the sensor track to eTrain, it wants me to push the PGM button even though it already has the ID of 10. I skipped this step and it seems to add fine but by skipping this, is it an important part of getting the data? I didn't see how but I guess I should make sure.

It shouldn't matter as long as they are both the same Accessory ID.

I cannot reproduce it. I reordered my LCS modules as Base -> WiFi -> SensorTrack -> BPC2 -> SER2 and everything worked fine. My contact at Lionel said the order should not matter.
I've seen other threads where people have had defective SensorTracks. Maybe yours is defective and you need to send it back to Lionel. Or you could send it to me and I could try it with my setup?
Well nothing changed and tonight it worked. I'll keep an eye on it. Cool data.
Thanks for for hanging in there.

That's weird. Glad its working now. Is it working consistently.
Yes, the data is pretty cool. With the software I can display everything and not just the stuff the Cab-2 lets you see.
So far it's consistent. We shall see.

Marty,
I think I figured out what was causing your problem. My code was checking to make sure the number of tabs were greater than 1 before it would populate the data on the IR SensorTrack window. It probably started working when you added the dummy SensorTrack. I have fixed the code and it will be out in the next release. For now just keep the dummy SensorTrack.
Thanks Harvy.
Where do you buy the Etrain software?

Where do you buy the Etrain software?
I went on e-bay to purchase it, but when I was reading the requirements it made it sound like you had to have a DB9 cable and SER2 module (they were not listed as only being needed if you don't have WiFi). I'm using LCS WiFi for my system. I just want to confirm it will connect using the LCS WiFi and I don't need any serial cables or additional modules and everything will work.
Thanks
Sean

It will work with only the LCS WiFi Module, but only in "Access Point" mode at this time. You do not need any serial cables. The only thing you would need a serial cable for is to record scenarios.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you,
Harvy

SC-2 fix, finally!
To upgrade from Ver 2 to 3 is a $10 up-charge? Will this be the case with all future enhancements?

Most of the time, yes.
I have just released version 3.1 of eTrain Command Console (L). It adds the ability to connect to the LCS WiFi module in "Join to Network" mode. Here is a screen shot of the new "Connection" window.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
I just released another version of version 3.1 of eTrain Command Console (L). I know that is redundant. Here is a list of all v3.1 changes:
- Added WiFi in “Join to Network” mode
- Fixed Legacy horn issue when the horn would sound just by holding the mouse down without dragging down
- Checking for duplicate Block IDs when adding a Lash-up to prevent conflicts
- Expanded Lash-up IDs to 99 (Only TMCC Lash-ups can be programmed at this time, but you can still add your Legacy Lash-ups to be able to operate them. You just have to program them with your Cab-2)*
- Added 200 speed steps for Legacy engines and Lash-ups
- Disabled Throttle Increase/Decrease buttons for engines and Lash-ups since they don’t have relative speed steps
*Lionel has advised me to hold off of on adding the Legacy Lash-up programming ability at this time. The reason is because the process is much more complicated than the TMCC process and its not documented.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
eTrain Command Console (L) Upgrade
Allowed StationSounds Diners to be displayed in the “Available Engines” list on the “Lash-ups” window and added a check to prevent them form being the first device in the Lash-up.
Added a “Don’t Program Engines” check box to the “Lash-ups” window allowing you to add a Lash-up to eTCC (L) without programming your engines.
Removed all Legacy Lash-up logic except “Front Engine Type” dropdown values. Creating a true Legacy Lash-up is a very complicated process. Also, there are some commands Lionel does not want me to use.
Tweaked the Auto Start/Stop functions
Fixed delayed “Start-Up” with dialog
Added all Engine and Lash-up Labor levels
Improved the Legacy sync functionality
I was able to connect to my Wi-Fi module in Access Point mode and test recording Scenarios via Wi-Fi using the Cab-2. It seems to be working, but I am still in the process of testing. When I am done, I will send out this functionality to everyone who already has eTrain Command Console (L) v3.3 for no charge.
Hi Everyone,
I have started working on voice control of eTrain Command Console (L). You will be able to use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, which ever one you prefer, to operate your trains, switches and Accessories. At this time I have Throttle commands working, along with a few others.
In order for this to work, you will need to set up your own IFTTT account and create an applet for each command you would like voice control of (very easy). You will also need to set up a Dropbox account. Both of these accounts are free.
I'm not sure when I will be able to release this.
More information to come.
eTrain Command Console (L) Upgrade
- Added a “Reset Display” menu option in the “Scenario” drop down menu to clear the “Command Count” text box, reset the “Scenario Progress” progress bar and clear the “Command Display” list box
- Added the Route Throw Rate to the status bar
- Added all connected LCS modules and their IDs to the status bar
- Added IR SensorTrack recording mode 2
- The ability to record the Set IR SensorTrack Action/Sequence command in a Scenario via the “Set Action” button in the “LCS Commands” group box of the IR SensorTrack window
- Increased the Scenario limit to 10,000 commands
- Fixed the bug that occurs when using the Quilling Horn slider while recording a Scenario
I have been asked to explain how the Voice Control feature works in my latest release. It is explained in the "Voice Control" section of the User's Guide. I have tried and tried to include a link to it here with no luck. Please click on the "eTrain Command Console" link below in my signature. Then scroll down until you find the URL for the User's Guide. Then copy and paste it in your browser.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
