LeapinLarry looking at the Lionel 2133140 UP Genset 2706 manual on page 6, it didn't mention anything if the smoke unit will automatically turnoff at high temperatures. On my First Run Edition Big Boy it has a feature that will automatically turn off at high temperatures to ensure the smoke unit doesn't fail and get damaged. This may be because the same smoke unit on my Big Boy supplies smoke to both the stack and whistle. The Genset while having three stacks only uses one unit.

Next time I come over we can take a look at the Genset! Hope all is well!

I just received the BNSF version and noticed some weird behavior with the number boards, they are dim when the model just sitting on the track shut down. But as soon as the smoke unit turns on they come on at max brightness. When the smoke unit is turned off they stay in the dim state, but start to flicker between bright and dim while it's moving. Anyone see this behavior on theirs?

So I took it for an operating session at my local club and the number board issue went away. Later tonight I put it on my test track at home (I use a Z-750 transformer at home) and noticed that beyond ~90% throttle the number board lights go into the dim state. So this is only an issue with MTH transformers by the looks of it
