Ok, here goes! I have the Lionel Legacy ABA Santa Fe F3s. First loco and B unit are powered. I had built up a train using these three engines and everything was working well. Then the powered a unit would run but no sound. Reprogrammed all three units and they work fine separately but I am not able to build a new train. When I try I can not get the screen that has the build soft key to pull up. Wondering if this is because the train I am trying to build is already in the system. I deleted the engines in an attempt to get the build screen to pop up but to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Bobby Cox, elicov1@verizon.net.

Did you delete the train in the system?
Reset them all and start over and delete the train from the legacy system

above you state; " I deleted the engines...."
if the engines are not in the legacy system they can not be made into a lashup.
I have a question about the new american flyer PA AA alco set with each unit having a smoke unit I can't get the directional lighting to work. Smoke units respond But head lights won't. Any susgestions?
TMCC engines can be done with a Cab1 remote. There is programming for the lead engine, middle engines and tail engine. Consist will operate as one engine with a TR number.
From the Lionel Trainmaster Command Control instruction manual that came with the original Cab 1 and Command base. All engines on the track, programmed with an engine number, facing the way you want them. Track Power on. Check all engines in the forward operating mode, front head light on.
Lead engine facing forward. TR (1 through 9), Eng Number (1 through 99), F (front) Set, a horn should sound.
Middle engine facing forward. TR (1 through 9), Eng Number (1 through 99), Set, a horn should sound.
Middle engine facing backward. TR (1 through 9), Eng Number (1 through 99), DIR, Set, a horn should sound.
Rear engine facing forward. TR (1 through 9), Eng Number (1 through 99), R (rear), Set, a horn should sound.
Rear engine facing backward. TR (1 through 9), Eng Number (1 through 99), R (rear), Dir, Set, a horn should sound.
Check consist (Lash-up) TR (1 through 9) Consist should respond, all engines moving in the same direction, Front head light on, all other headlights off in Forward. Reverse, rear headlight comes on all others off, consist moves in reverse. Also note that the front and rear couplers of the consist operate, all other couplers do not work.
Break the consist, assign all engines to TR 0
Click on the image for a video. The multiple speakers slightly out of sinc, produce an interesting beat/pulse effect with the sound.
All engines on powered track with front head light on.
Lead engine GP7 #357 TR7, 57, F, Set. a horn should sound
First SW9 #233 TR7, 33, Set a horn should sound
Second SW9 #234 TR7, 34, Set a horn should sound
Third SW9 #1775 TR7, 75, Set a horn should sound
Last SW9 #1776 TR7, 76, R, Dir, Set a horn should sound. ( R for rear engine in the consist, Dir, facing backwards)
Hit TR7 on the handheld, the consist should respond. Only the front and rear couplers, front and rear head lights, of the consist will work.
Important: Break the consist, assign all engines to TR0 Example: TR0, 57 Set. Example: TR0 33 Set. If you don't assign engines to TR0, they remember their last assigned train, how they were positioned, and will respond accordingly.

Head lights can be turned off and on Eng # Aux1 Aux2 with a cab 1 remote.
If the two engines are programmed as a consist the middle lights, between the engines are turned off, only front and rear operate. Same applies to electro-couplers middle of a consist, may only apply to O-scale electro-couplers.
Thanks Mike. This is the new set for American flyer. The rear engine is a dummy with smoke and legacy control it disposed to have directional lighting. It is a set PA-AA. It is not a lash up
