I am replacing a speaker on a legacy diesel and as I opened the fuel tank both wires to the hall sensor detached. One wire was black and the other gray. Does it matter to which post they get soldered to?
You need to post the engine product number (example 6-xxxxxx or in recent numbers maybe year first like a 19xxxxxxx or 24xxxxxxx) in hopes that we can loop up the parts breakdown and see maybe from a picture the correct polarity.
Vern the engine number is 6-38414 (ac6000 csx #654) and they only have a part number for the tank cs-6308403058-p does not show a separate part number for the sensor.
Looking at your picture the gray is left and black right. Now if you flip it over the solder pad should be labelled K and A. Gray to A and Black to K. G
