I also get on a jag to find cars for consists.  I went after Lionel beer cars and then cigarette cars just for the fun of the hunt and finding the best deals.  This site, epay, Mercari, Etsy, Facebook marketplace, LCCA Interchange, keeping an eye out can turn up some real finds.  Sometimes you get lucky with folks that think it is just an old Lionel not worth that much and listed for 20 bucks, and turns out you got rare caboose listed in Greenbergs for $200.  Just when I think I don't need to buy another car or loco, my interest gets piqued and the hunt begins.  The first parts of my CB&Q passenger set should be arriving today, and now have to find the cars to make an accurate consist.   Don't forget, it is a hobby, and keeps us from smoking, drinking and chasing loose women.

Half the fun for me in this hobby is building passenger car sets.  In my case, they aren't necessarily always matched sets but rather putting together sets I see in videos and photos of real trains.  The thrill of the chase is often more satisfying than finding the car, but it is always rewarding when that last car has been found because then it's time to move onto the next chase!

Enjoy the completion of your set!
