Having blown the installation of a Lionel lighthouse (I crossed the wires somehow and fried the unit), I am loath to do anything with this $200 accessory unit without checking with you guys first.
The simple question is this: I have a red wire, a black one, and a white wire. I'll assume that the black wire goes to the outside rail. And that the red one goes to the center rail (power). But what about the white one?
I run DCS from a TIU. But I also run Lionel Legacy from a base station that is powered by its own brick and a black wire to the outside rail. I do not address/control TMCC engines through the DCS system.
So ... what about that white wire?
