I am still building 4 N&W dynamometer cars, 3 CN vans and 6 Union RR cabooses but I have added the H& BTM car too. This is after 8 hours work, still a ways to go.

Nice, Malcolm - in the Oxford Dictionary kind of way.
Cheers
Boy you make it look easy, fine detail there sir.
What kind of car is that? Looks like a gas electric?
H&BT #27 started life as a PRR Brill gas electric, later sold to the H&BT. After WWII it was involved in a wreck that damaged the motor end of the car. H&BT shop forces removed the two motors, shortened the car body, built a new end, and returned the car to service as combine #27 -- H&BT's lone revenue passenger car. The car survives and is on display at the Central Square Station Museum in Central Square, NY. #27 today. (the museum painted it as if it were still a doodlebug). Below is a picture of the car in it's last years on the H&BT.
Malcolm's model is very special to me as it will be the capstone element in creating a faithful model of H&BT's train #2 and #3 - the daily three car locals between Huntingdon and Bedford, PA. When #27 is finished I'll start a separate post about the train, the models, and its role in operations on my railroad. Meanwhile I'll enjoy following Malcom's amazing work via the Forum.

Here's another picture of #27
Malcolm is building it in its later demotored phase? There must have been a suggestion article in a professional railroad magazine, for bashing gas electrics down to combines was done by several roads.
I asked Malcolm to build the car as it looked in it's last years of service - rebuilt end, no motors (smooth roof), and shortened several feet. I suspect this may be the only O scale model of this car on the planet. A fellow Pennsy fan, H&BT historian, and close friend provided plans, data and several photos. He intends to build an HO model of the car some day. I sent him a link to this thread so he can follow the project.
I would have loved to have personally seen Malcolm's model of the L&N Huckety Buck. Given any thought to before and after models? (Don't mind me..l have a thing about gas electrics) I

It's entirely possible. Check the Model Train Magazine Index and/or the search engine at TrainLife (soon to be updated). Add them to your internet Favorites.
A ten page article in a late '90's issue of MR describes scratchbuilding an O scale Brill car (L&N) using styrene. Just omit the section removed in the rebuild. Includes a very interesting method to make perfect rivets. Detailed interior too.

Malcolm, the drool is all over the iPad man... so beautiful.
That Best Of OGR list mentioned awhile ago.. the Malcolm building threads are at the top of the list, like number 1!
Very interesting thread. I have a couple of books on the Huntington & Broad Top RR and the Broad Top mountain area. Investigated a little bit f the old ROW. Nice work on the model. Thanks
Interesting stuff! Thanks Ed & Malcolm!
The body and floor are ready for paint, I will start the roof tomorrow. I also worked on URR and CN cabs today along with N&W dyno cars. N&W believed in rivets, lots of them!

It's scary how good you are at this, Malcolm.
It is such a treat to see your projects...great work Malcolm.
Malcolm: Wonderful project . Thank you for posting pictures. Many who view this, would ask how you did the rivet detail. Could you show us how the rivet detail is done??

Just plain WOW!
