Guys,

I just bought a Legacy 990 base/remote setup. I haven't had a chance to power it up yet, but i removed the battery cover and did not see a silver mark as decribed per the Lionel website. The setup came with (2) blue modules and (2) white modules....Obviously, I'm going to power it up to see if its running the latest version...but before I have a chance to do so...Do you think I'll still have to send it back for upgrade or will I be ok? Just curious...before I fire it up later today....I want to be prepared for disaapointment beforehand...

I just bought mine.   It comes with a 1.4 Legacy Instruction booklet.  I assume that means my set is 1.4.

I registered the warranty with Lionel.  They immediately sent me a 1.3 upgrade....Very confusing.....why would they do this?  It makes no sense to go backwards (1.4 to 1.3). I don't plan on doing it.....unless someone tells me that I'm wrong and I missed the boat!

Is there any reason I should wait for 1.5?  I've seen people complaining about the 1.4 not turning off and doing odd things.  Is that real or just a specific hardware issue?

I just recently recieved legacy with 1.4, turns on and off just fine. I lost some icons pertaining to a newer legacy loco could have been my user error, reloaded the module and the icons are here to stay. My other "issue" if you will was regarding some icons/features on one of the first legacy locos, that did not function, I think something was lost during the development of legacy. However, the as always, first rate customer service at Lionel, made the necessary "adjustments" so that these icons/features now work as described. Love it!
