1st of all I want to say thank you to everyone for there well wishes & prayers. Some of them made me laugh (which by the way really hurts at this stage of the recovery). I especially want to thank Bob S. who initially contacted me about being AWOL on the forum. When I finally read the posts it made me feel very good. Although I've probably only met a few of you inn person it feels like I know everyone. That is one of the great features of this forum. You feel like you know everyone.
Now a medical update. When I developed the A-fib I was really scared. My heart was racing so fast it felt like it was going to come right thru the chest. If it's going to happen, the hospital is the best place to have it. I was immediately transferred to the cardiac section & administered blood thinners, etc. At the time my heart rate was 165. An hour later 93. The cardiologist said it was caused by physical stress of the surgery. Age was a factor (69 years old. Anyways it self regulated itself & I didn't need shocking the next day. Yesterday I was administered nuclear stress tests to make sure the heart wasn't damaged. Everything was ok so they let me go home. They changed some of my blood pressure medicine but I had to check with my nephrologist (kidney doctor) to make sure it was ok which he approved. A year ago I had a kidney removed due to PCKD I cancer. That's part of the problem in treating me. What may be good for one problem is bad for another. Anyways the cardiologist just increased my aspirin dosage from 81MG a day to 325MG but no blood thinners. Now I can concentrate on getting better from the gall bladder removal. The tried to do it laproscopically but couldn't. I have an 8" scar so my speedo days are over. (LOL)
I will need a few more days before I really get back on the forum but just wanted to say THANK YOU.
