Do you mean ERR, as in Electric Railroad, i.e. NOT "EER"?
so much for proof reading...

Yes

To Err on the ERR is human. I leave the proof reading to the rivet counters.

Well, at least you could edit your subject title!
I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all those that decided it was easier to pick apart my post for an error than to actively participate in offering a solution to my query. You’re all the true gentleman your mothers have raised.

I'm not picking apart your post. You may get a more direct response having "south Florida" in the title.
Having said that. There are several very reputable people on this forum outside of Florida, if you could justify the shipping expense.

Just my opinion but, with an attitude like THAT, I'm sure you will get LOTS OF HELP.

No need to bring anyone's mother into the conversation. I'd consider that to be a needless insult.

I have a somewhat dumb question. If they're already TMCC, all you should need is the ERR Cruise Commander M to replace the DCDR. That's a pretty easy conversion that should be able to be sourced locally, surely someone does basic Lionel electrical work down in Florida, right?
South Florida is a large area. I assume you want to avoid shipping. If so, I suggest you be more precise about your location. You might want to find out if READY TO ROLL in Miami does that sort of work. If not, maybe they can refer you to someone convenient to you.

Bill at RTR will help point you in the right direction.
Question for GRJ or anyone that wants to answer, what is a DCDR and what does it do? Sorry guys I have no clue what John is talking about.
The DCDR is the Lionel motor driver (without cruise). It takes the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals from the R2LC and converts it into drive voltages for the motor(s).

With regards to EER vs. ERR - legitimate question. With all the acronyms that get thrown around in this hobby, I wondered myself. I assumed ERR but you never know. I’d be reluctant to help if someone started showing attitude.

Thanks John, I don't really know that much about this stuff but understood some of what you said. It's funny, back in my 20's and into my early 30's, I used to work on microwave equipment and trouble shot 4 wire switches for phone systems. Then I moved on to work for the SP as a switchman and got away from that completely, 50 years later, I have almost no clue what all this stuff does and how it works. I think I'm in trouble if I have problems. Shoot, I'm almost afraid to take this stuff apart for fear that I may not be able to get it back together again.
To Err is HUMAN...To FORGIVE...divine- Merry Christmas!
