I have two steam locomotives, one is a recent Weaver light Mikado and another is a post-war Atlantic (I think).  On both of them there are problems with the rear truck mount.  The mount appears to be bolted to the chassis but goes through a curve in the truck so I it can swing side to side... sometimes there is a spring in there too.  What is that mount called?  Anyhow it is either missing or sheared off these engines.  It looks like I can still run the engines without this piece but is that not suggested, at least if reversing?  Any idea where I can get parts if needed?

Hi C W, It's a Weaver PRR L-1S 2-8-2 steam loco #1138.  Can't find a model number... made in the "90s?"

It's definitely missing since I see another one on line with  a "stub" sticking through the curve in the truck plate and with a C-clip holding truck on.

In this next picture you can see the post and the curved slot in the rear truck plat.  InkedIMG_0797_LI

So what is this piece called... do I need it to operate fully since the rear trucks don't bear any weight and are pulled around the track?  Wouldn't his be a bigger problem if going in reverse?

Thanks for your help.
