Attached are a couple of Photos of a Lionel Sensor Track installed on my Layout! I'm using Atlas Track w/ Vinyl Roadbed. After I removed the Ties from the Atlas Track & the Rails & Plastic Tabs (With a Dremel) , I cut the Vinyl Roadbed so the Sensor track would slide under the Rails. A perfect installation, I might say. One word of CAUTION, remove the Electronics from the Sensor Track before you begin!!! Having a ball using it!!!

Nice clean install. BTW - I see that you use 153IR controllers. Are they working well for you?
I use the 153IR' s at all my Vehicle Crossing's . They work great! So much better than the MTH Versions!!

That turned out well, looks nice. I also use Atlas track and will probably copy your method of install for a sensor track when I get one. Thanks for posting.
I'll be attempting this type of integration with my O gauge tubular track. I may just use the electronics.

They now sell one that directly works with tubular track, no modding to the track section needed. It was in the 2017 catalog.

Thanks for this information - I had not noticed this piece either. It is part number 6-82869 and can be seen on page 46 here in the 2016-2017 Track and Power Catalog.
Also, many thanks to Fredstrains for sharing his ingenious and beautifully executed solution for using the sensor track.
Nice job, Fred. I have a couple of them installed but my installation was easier because I use Fastrack.
A whole lot easier, to say the least !

Thanks for the info concerning the sensor track for tubular connection. Because I got a "free" sensor track (for Fastrack) included with my VL BB, I still may attempt to integrate this one.
I have the VL-BB, and the sensor track was anything but free!
