@RMT - Ready Made Trains - Done! Sorry, "fat finger"...Don
@pennsyfan- Bob thank you for the comment! Don
While this is Reefer Monday it is more importantly Labor Day. I echo Trumpettrain’s tribute on SwSat and thank all the hard working railroad workers that keep this country moving. As always please follow the forums TOS when posting. Let’s see your reefers!
l first became aware of Boars Head products when I started working in the deli while attending HS. My Mom always shopped in A&P, so we never had it at home. I was happy when METCA brought this car out; it brought back memories of that time. So here is my Brunckhorst Reefer.

This car was purchased in a box of 5 special. I never heard of the company but I do like the looks of the car.

Another MTH special featuring Pittsburgh Brewing Company. This one is my favorite color scheme that they did.

OUCH! With the current closing of one of their plants due to unsanitary conditions, hard to think good thoughts about them. But I like your car!!!

Well because of the Holiday and all it entails, I am a little rushed today so here is one from my archives. The Lionel Texas & Pacific (T&P) 16131 reefer from 1994. The grand name is a bit of an exaggeration, the railroad never got even close to the Pacific and was fully contained in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. It was acquired by the Missouri Pacific i 1928 but was allowed to operated independently until all of the MP was merged with the Union Pacific in 1980. Interestingly the original station and office tower still stand in Ft. Worth and are enormous buildings on the south side of the city.
Best Wishes and hope you have a wonderful labor day Holiday

It’s Reefer Monday 9/9/24. Let’s see your Reefers! As always adhere to the Forum’s TOS when posting. There were some Horseshoe Curve beers previously posted back aways. If I recall Curve was part of the name. This car has a picture of the curve but the name is Altoona 36LARGER.

Well I went to a train show on Saturday, it was one of only about 2 we have locally in the fall until after the first of the year. This one was pretty good about 160-170 tables and lots of "stuff". This item I picked up for just $10 mostly because I knew "Reefer Monday" was coming and I was just about out of reefer's. Lionel (LTI - Lionel Trains Inc) from 1991. I like the bright yellow body contrasted with the black livery and trim. Will look good with my other CSX rolling stock. So here is the full side view.
Here is the RR name end of the car showing the Lionel # and the blt date
Here is the RR logo and slogan end of the car.
Best wishes, Happy Monday, hope your week goes well.

Good Morning Reefer Fans! It’s Reefer Monday 9/16/24 let’s see your reefers. As always please observe Forum TOS when posting.
I had lunch with a HS buddy yesterday and in the course of conversation some of the fellows that I was in Scouts with were mentioned. Later in the day when I was in the train room thinking about them; I saw this reefer and remembered what my Patrol name was. This is a Weaver car.

Well I sure do like those "bill board" reefers, but in the 1930's, Mr. Cowen of Lionel fame did not like lithography, felt it was inferior to his beautiful enameled trains. So here today is one of Mr. Cowen's favorites, the Lionel 814R refrigerator car from (in these colors) 1934-1935. At some 90 years old, this gal still looks ok, has some "patina" as they say but no rust or corrosion and her paint is still mostly OK. All add on parts are present so I would say she looks pretty good for 90 !
Best wishes everyone, hope your week goes well.
