I have two Kline berks which originally had Kline cruise which I installed TAS drop in EOB.  Railsounds boards are in the tender with a six wire tether between engine and tender.   Over time I've gotten bored with the sounds and would like to install mid size Steam sounds ERR now sells.

I know there's two ways the railsound board can get the chuff trigger for the sound.  Either directly connected to the chuff switch or via the serial data from the R2LC board.  Does anyone know how Kline wired there steam engines and which method of getting the chuff signal to the RS boards?

I must ad the EOB drop in generates the chuff signal, not any micro switch or reed switch.  Also I have not had time to do any experimenting/test to see which is the case.  Both of my berks are slated for superchuffer boards but are down on the priority list.  At least to I get other projects completed.  Way to many things to do.

The best person to answer that question would be Ken of ERR.  He is a fine fella and is an excellent source of information and trouble shooting when needed.  I also have a K Line Berk, the ATSF, and installed the ERR Cruise Commander along with RS.  I am very well pleased with it and recommend to anyone.  I had to install the ERR due to a can motor and board failure, evidently from the prior owner.  Give Ken a call, you will be glad you did.
