Led lighting and mincommander 2 boards

Do you have to add a resistor to the led (3volt) powered by the err board pin no 2 and 3 or the J4/J5 pins?

The LED outputs from the 10-pin connector on pins 2 & 3 are direct connections to an LED. The J4 & J5 outputs, OTOH, are 12V signals and would require a resistor for an LED connection. Note that the J4 & J5 outputs could be couplers or smoke output depending on the programming ordering option of the Mini Commander II, it came in three different configurations.
