Commands from the handheld Cab-2 controller are received by the base as verified by the flickering red receiver LED. However, the destination loco does not respond, suggesting that the command data is not deployed from the base. I have replaced wiring, tested the destination loco on another Cab-2 loop with another Cab-2 system. No problem with the loco. All attempted workarounds point to the Cab-2 base that is not transmitting the control data into the track. FWIW: this symptom occurred without warning. This particular Cab-2 system has worked flawlessly for several years. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

2 things,

#1 the track signal depends on the power adapter being properly grounded.

#2 It is possible to damage the radio signal transmitter in a base, but then it has to go back to Lionel for repair.

Suggest checking power supply grounding and also, then there is a way to measure TMCC/Legacy base signal.
