Sent my Legacy remote and base away.

base was good, remote was dead.

Lionel replaced the remote, reprogramed both with 1.5

Loco was also sent back, bad smoke unit gasket, replaced that too.

Well they are back, but, I can't get them running together.
Loco runs off throttle on Z4000 in conventional mode.
Legacy base powers up, so does remote.
Remote takes info from module and loco info loads into hand held
Base blinks when buttons are pushed on the remote, so they appear to be communicating.
When base is on, loco recognizes that legacy is there, and doesnt respond to throttle In conventional, so it appears to know Legacy is in control.

But loco doesn't respond to hand held either. Won't start. Won't do anything, whistle, bell ring, couple release, nothing.

checked wire to track, still connected.

Suggestions?

Not necessarily, they will give it whatever id# they feel like. In my case I had programmed my loco with the last two digits of the cab number. Lionel returned the loco programmed to respond to the first two digits of the cab number, I discovered this after I experienced the same sinking feeling that Jim has, thought about it for a minute then experimented with the other cab number digits. If 1 doesn't work you can try the other two numbers that you didn't originally use however its easiest just to reassign your original i.d.#

Thanks, guys.

I rested the remote, and re entered the locomotive.

almost set now.

The locomotive is recognized, and runs fine. All features function fine.

only problem is the cab light is flashing, one continuous flash.

saw an earliest post that says one flsh indicates main drive motor stall, but mine it's running.

Says to rest engine, but short of taking it out of the remote, I don't know how she's reset the locomotive.

Have removed the loco from remote, and reinstalled,

have tried R  icon have tried instructions on page 18:

If your locomotive is unresponsive to your commands in the TrainMaster Command Control environment, we recommend that you follow this procedure to reset your locomotive. All factory default settings will be restored when you reprogram the locomotive.

  1. Slide the Command reverse unit switch to the PROG position.

  2. Plug in and connect your Command Base.

  3. Place your locomotive and tender on the track, then power up the track.

  4. Press ENG and enter the locomotive’s ID#.

  5. Press SET.

  6. Press ENG and enter the locomotive’s ID# again.

  7. Press AUX1.

  8. Enter 1 for this particular locomotive.

  9. Turn off track power and wait ten seconds.

  10. Slide the Command reverse unit switch back to the RUN position.

At this point, your locomotive has been reset. Restore power to the track and operate the

locomotive as usual. Be sure to use the ID# entered in Step 4.
