Visited my local train shop today, and they had a tempting combo including a Legacy Powermaster and Cab 1L with an adapter included.... I didn't want to pull the trigger until I read up on it some more... I build my son a 5x9 layout that operates around 3-4 locomotives at a time. It is two loops with 3 sidings. We only run lion chief locos, and frankly, I am getting sick with quality control, connectivity issues, and price of them (plus, having 6 controllers is kinda a pain, and yes, I have a universal remote). We use a Z1000 to power the tracks, and a CW80 to power operating accessories and lights. Reading the Legacy Powermaster manual, it says you cant use a Z1000 as a power supply?
We have no interest in running conventional locos, and will probably focus on TMCC. All of our lionchief, lionchief plus, and lionchief plus 2.0 all run fine with the Z1000.
Thanks for your time!
