I'll be in the Commonwealth this weekend and wondered if anyone could recommend some LHS's in the Carlisle area ?
If it doesn't stop raining there, my wife might even want to come in & look around !
Thks,

There is/was a train shop a couple of blocks south of the main square, but it seemed to be scaling back the last couple of times l stopped, so don't know it's current status. lt used to advertised in the mags
The shop that was on the south side of Carlisle was Wagner & Sons and I believe it closed in the last few years. It was on E. Willow St. You'll need to drive to either New Cumberland, Gettysburg, or Hagerstown MD to find a shop. The local shops are drying up in South Central PA.
There is a big antique store/mall in town on Bedford St. and one dealer has a bunch of Lionel. Pretty nice place.

Sad, but true. Only really decent one that I am aware of is in Blue Ridge Summit.
Where is Blue Ridge Summit ??
Found it. What is the name of the shop ? Not too far away for me.
Shop in Blue Ridge Summit is easy to find, since this is a wide spot in the road. South from Gettysburg on 15, then through Emmitsburg, MD. , west, up the hill. Railroad and old station there. Was my best source for Weaver trucks on York trips, when were available.

The nearest to Carlisle that I can think of is Tommy Gilbert's in Gettysburg, on Water Street which runs parallel to route 30. It is one block north of 30.
Blue Ridge Summit is an easy trip from there.
