With the excitement of setting up my layout I may have been overlooking, but I notice that once I run the shutdown sequence with my Legacy controller on Legacy and TMCC engines, the lights on the engines stay on.  The controller should have command as it was powered up first to take the track out of conventional mode.  Shouldn't the train completely power down, including the lights when you shutdown the engines via the controller or have I got a wiring problem?

Thanks for any info...

Nicole that is not quite true.  He mentions TMCC and Legacy.  TMCC engine have less lighting controls than Legacy and lights such as headlights are triggered on with track power even if in command mode.  So many of my Steam TMCC engines have headlights on when track power is applied and they stay on even if a TMCC shutdown is done.

Additionally there are a number of lighting effects powered by track power (Cab light, firebox, etc...) that will always be on when track power is applied.

Legacy has more control features available so less lights should stay on for Legacy engines.   G
