A bit back I ask some sort of question about my K-Line O27 (42") switches and how one of them quit switching in both directions. I said that I had identified the problem as something going amiss with the limit switch. I knew the switch still worked because if I manipulated the limit switch's arm by hand it changed the lights accordingly. I just couldn't get it to throw the switch's swivel rails back to curved after switching it to straight.
gunrunnerjohn was the first to suggest that the 'nub' at the end of the limit switch arm might be worn down and that he has fixed his with a dab of JB Weld. he also offered a tip that after it's hardened, it can be sanded/filed if need be.
Well, I tried the JB Weld fix Sunday and just as John suggested, it needed "trimmed", which I did after it hardened for 8 hours.
I now have a perfectly working switch again! Thanks. I know that more than gunrunner offered tips, but his was the first and he also was kind enough to stay with the thread and jump in a few times. The tip of being able to file it down was key since I had to do that.
As always, thanks - walt
