hey guys, just wondering. i treated myself to a birthday present in july. my 1st brand new train set in over 30 years. was so happy when it came, however. the locomotive ran so smooth, reving sounds were great. the bell only rang 10-15 times and stopped, the horn volume was so low(even with the lc app) i could'nt hear it over the other trains. called lionel and was told it was a sound board issue and send it for warranty repair. received the loco back 2 weeks later with a repair note, bell is on 15 second timer, engine runs and sounds as it should. question, does anyone have 1 and is this true?

Tim,
Please list the item number for the set/locomotive. If you have any pictures that would help as well. I know Williams engines that sounded too low could be adjusted internally by turning a pot (potentiometer) on the control board. Lionchief engines are more solid state though so I will have to defer to someone else.

The bells are on a timer.
Without hearing or seeing the problem with the sound I can't tell you anything about that.
they said the bell rings for 15 as it's supposed too. does'nt sound right

That is correct. I have a lionchief Christmas switcher that does the same thing. The bell gets annoying when it never gets turned off, so the reset length of time is a feature, not a malfunction.
thanks, i appreciate the help
