So the simple system gets more complicated.  Well if that's the case it should makes some folks happy.  I imagine it will require more hardware to accomplish it but I don't see it out of the realm of possibilities.

The answer to the original question is that you probably (Can not) change to TMCC and retain sounds since LC/LC+ is an integrated one piece board.

The concept of a bridge seem simple enough and that was discussed a while ago as a solution.  Seems simple enough to build a box that receives Legacy commands and translates them to LC signal.

Really makes you wonder why these semi scales are not offered in 2 flavors.  V6 with LC+ and V8 with a DC Commander.  Lionel has certainly offered the full range of sounds in their engines, from SS to RS.   G

I think the bridge makes the most sense from a financial and marketing viewpoint.  It allows Lionel to keep the single product line and yet satisfy the folks that would like to control the LC/LC+ stuff from TMCC/Legacy.  I really can't see them offering all the LC/LC+ stuff in multiple command systems, I'll be amazed if that happens.  It's not that they couldn't do it, but the ROI probably simply isn't there to invest in the engineering to support two different electronics packages for the same set, especially the low cost.
