Hi,

I have a 3 Lionel 148 Dwarf Signal that I would like to be controlled by an 022 switch. Looking at the manual for the 148, it states that this can be done with an 0-72 switch (6-65165 and 6-65166). Is it possible to do this with the 022? Or does anyone know if the signal will only work with a track contactor ?

If I wire the Dwarf Signal to the 022 screw terminals, both lights light up and stay lit, not matter what the 022 does. FWIW, I am using constant accessory voltage to the 022.

Thanks.

You can wire the signal successfully to the O22 switches. The center post of the switch machine is the common, the out post light one color or the other. On the base of the 148, the center screw terminal is RED, green to the right, and common to the left.

Having both colors illuminate at the same time makes me think you have your common in the wrong place.

This is an older pin-bulb one.

I tried rewiring, but same issue - on the 022, both outside posts seem to have power regardless of the switch setting, so both bulbs are lit. If it makes a difference, I have two 022 switches connected to each other (just via the outside posts) so that throwing the switch controls both switches.
