Hello Everyone,

I usually do not post to this side of the forum, but I desprately need your help.
I have a Lionel 1615 0-4-0 switcher that Dad got me for Christmas back in 54-55. I have set up my old Lionels every Christmas since then, but the years have taken their toll on the 1615's left front (fireman's side) wheel bearing. I have tried everywhere to find a replacement bearing. All the parts people know what I am asking for, it is just nobody, but nobody, has such a thing. Is this such a super-special item, made just for this locomotive, that once it wears out the locomotive is useless??

I can do the repair myself. If only I could find this illusive and extremely rare bearing. If you folks can steer me to the right source for a relpacement, I would be forever gratefull!!
Thank you all very much.

Buzz, the plain side bearing is 2026-107, the geared side bearing is 2026-106.

Becsuse the numbers begin with 2026 that means they were first used on that engine. The 2026 is VERY common and I would imagine there are quite a few basket cases around. I have a few here myself. I believe the bearing/bushing is staked to the motor side frames. A replacement bearing/bushing could easily be restaked in.

You really should not have too much of a problem getting your 1615 up and running again.
Guys,

A big "thank you very much" to Johnsgg1 and CW Burfle. Your help was just what I needed. Smitty's Parts had just what I was looking for after all these years, and now my 1615 runs like in was brand new. Not bad for an almost 60 year old locomotive. He is great to deal with and I recommend him to everyone.
Thank you again!!
