Lionel 2329 e-unit

i need to service the e-unit on a 2329 Rectifier loco I just bought. It’s mounted upside down on the chassis with the coil in the topside. It looks to be riveted to the chassis.

Can someone advise me how to get at it for service? (Free up the piston and maybe replace the claws).

The 'E'-unit is screwed to a bracket with a round head slotted screw and can be taken off for service. The bracket is what is riveted to the frame.

Possibly the drum and both sets of contacts may need replacing. Clean all parts with Naphtha before reassembling.
