Just picked up a 50th anniversary UP set from the original owner. It’s in veg condition but dirty. What’s the best way to clean with fading or removing the paint or damaging the decals. In the past I would use pledge and a soft bristle brush to breakup the dust/dirt and wipe with a microfiber. I have even used ceramic wipe on my 2245 to bring back the vibrant finish.

I just use dish soap and warm water with a soft toothbrush on the plastic parts.

Any place you have markings, be careful and use cool water only.
Thank you - first a cleanup and then mechanical refresh. Hoping to have this as a runner under the tree and on the layout before Thanksgiving weekend.
