Hope you all have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day to all of our Mothers that put up with our train layouts in the middle of the living room on Christmas day.

I have no issue with fantasy sound sets being used on an engine with a fantasy paint scheme. That was nowhere near the point of my original questions anyway.
My question to Mike was, has Lionel corrected the sound set discrepancies that were present in the 2005 release so that this new release now has the correct sounding whistle (quilling is fine I suppose as long as its user-selectable so it can be operated as it actually sounded as well) and if the air compressor sounds are now heard when the engine is moving as well as when at standstill. That aside, I would take it as a given that at least they have 8 chuffs per revolution now and hopefully with more convincing in-and-out synchronization compared to the original release as well.
The sounds for this engine have always been easy to research and high-quality archived recorded samplings available to hear even prior to when Lionel did their original release of this model. If the sounds weren't corrected on their new releases, which are also what made the Cab Forward stand out from other steam locomotives were not corrected, then I would probably end up converting it to PS2 since MTH (and QSI before) have had correct sounds for their cab forwards before Lionel as well. That's not running it down, that's simply stating facts.
As to the Daylight scheme; it's a beautiful paint scheme, in fact it's my favorite of all the passenger car paint schemes ever made, followed closely by the WP California Zephyr. Is it beautiful on the Cab Forworward? That's an individual preference of course, but whether it's beautiful on that model or not is immaterial to me since I don't care for fantasy paint schemes on scale equipment like Mike Regan does in general. To each their own, but I personally would have liked them to offer #4275 in its correct paint scheme in addition to the fantasy Daylight scheme.
