As far a my $0.02 goes, I enjoy the less common engines of the CCII group, the PRR Sharks, the FM Trainmaster Demonstators and the UP M-10000.  All great running engines.  Since the both of the Sharks are powered, I easily picked up a second B unit to give me lots of options.

They're all good!

As we all can possibly agree, Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder, and to me, the Century Club 1, brought back so many memories of the Post War Lionel, which has remained in my heart for over 68 years.....My dream, growing up in the 50’s was to have the New York Central lightning stripe ABA, The Pennsy #682 Turbine, the Pennsy Brunswick Green 2332 GG1, the Berkshire 726 Steamer, and to top off the Deal, a Lionel 773 and all with Command Control, and Yes, I bought the Farm...The Entire Century Club 1.....I have tested them only, and as pictured, they are proudly on display....I did have Century Club 2, however sold it as a packaged deal to a friend....Great Thread, Happy Railroading....A097A2D9-2CD3-40E2-89DF-65CBF5911D3AB32D807E-70F8-4A5E-B15E-2893008732383C649CE5-F042-412D-B558-9A7E2BC0C68B3DB17B15-4CDF-4DEF-A275-583F00D730B9

Were the  very first PWC offerings like the train masters and such made in the USA?

PWC series started in the 90s, they were US made. 2001 was the transition year with US production ending by June. Although not a PWC item I recall my 2001 EMD demonstrator F3 ABA is US made but the shells have USA replaced with China, same tooling, just moved out of the country never to return.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the PWC Norfolk and Western J and the 736 Berkshire steam engines and the PWC B&O and Wabash F3s?

I have the entire Postwar Celebration Series Collection, Conventional Classics and Century Club. Whether made in USA or China, my entire collection runs smoothly and quietly. The paint and decorations were flawless. The F3's.. GG1, Trainmasters and the steam engines all run super strong. The Berkshire in the PWC series I liked but the sound was like a machine gun because the cherry switch was giving 4 revolutions to smaller drive wheels, I sanded 2 of the nubs off on the plastic actuator to give 2 chuffs. The Railsounds wasnt as loud as the other engines in the Berkshire either. Only real flaw in that engine,

The only other  issue I ever had was with the MSTL alcos from the Conventional Classics Orbiter Set. The engine growled so bad, everything I did to fix didnt work. Even sent it to Lionel which was a waste, they didnt do anything. After receiving it back,  I added a ball bearing to the shaft like the original postwar, the noise went away.

The series were great, it gave people an opportunity to own a postwar classic in brand new condition at a lesser price the an original in used condition.

I still wished they continued the PWC or CC series.

I have the chance to purchase all of the Century 1 engines at an auction. I mainly have my eyes on the Hudson and the Turbine. They are mint in box. Wondering what a fair price is on these? There's actually two hudsons and two turbines. One turbine also has the PRR tender included. Really excited but I don't want to get my hopes up. I've been to auctions where guys will bid an outrageous amount for something.
