Looking for some help on this one. This was a shelf queen in my office for years and took it down the other day. Put it on the track and it didn't do a thing, so I put it on my bench upside down and it ran like a top, tipped it over and everything went dead again. HELP !!!!

Which Lionel Vanderbilt is this? There have been 5 different ones in O gauge right now.
You might want to take the boiler off just to be sure that nothing inside like a circuit board is loose. I've had that happen once in awhile.

This is the gray one with white letters. guessing maybe 10 years old ? Time flys..
Need the number. Legacy covered both modular boards and the RCMC board set. Legacy first came out with modular boards like TMCC. They got clear of that and now use the RCMC board system. The RCMC set is the greatest.

You have the early one with an AC motor. I would to what Thomas stated. Give it a good look and see what stands out. Unplug any plugs and put them back in. When you put it on the track, do you have any lights? I see many of these AC motored locomotives and they can usually all be made to run again.
