WOULD THERE BE AN INTEREST in a ltd. edition brute locomotive exclusive to LCCA. it will be expensive and require an $800.00 deposit.

it will be in cream LIONEL trains decor. All special mixed colors. production will not exceed 50 pc's.need feedback ASAP. I will put them into production shortly if I get a positive response

Lou, for those blessed with the appropriate funds, I think that would be a winner.  And you're wisely limiting production to 50 units.

Standard Gauge Tinplate appears to be the "new frontier" for toy train enthusiasts who are "re-discovering" what toy trains were all about prior to the arrival of O-Gauge post-war trains and now -- of course -- the ultra-realism of today's serious hi-rail products and layouts.

Not everyone can commit funds to both O and Standard Gauge environments... but for those who can -- or for those who are focused on Standard Gauge -- I think a unique 50-piece production run could capture the attention of those with the means.

The engine would be $1595.00 plus shipping because of the 50 pc count. They will be numbered with a certificate of authenticity from Lionel Corporation. the club will keep 3 of the 50 in case of loss or damage. remember this isn't for everyone! It's for the folks who can afford them only. I'm testing another market by doing these locomotives.IF I get pressure from the folks who may want cars then we will approach that at a different time. i'm telling you the colors will make you fall to your knee's.

Going to GM and lexas for paint samples. i think i can have a sample made by LIONELS red carpet sale in Late March. I need more feedback ASAP PLEASE.

THANKS

LOUIE

You know, this isn't exactly what I collect, but the idea of a unique run of 50 does sound intriguing, and, the Brute is unique to itself, not a clone of something done years ago.

However, I hesitate for one reason, you stated several metallic and pearl paint colors. I think before I'd be willing to commit, I'd like to know the paint colors, or see a sample of one.

Just not into tinplate with "street rod" paint, and would prefer more subdued colors. Of course, that's just my tastes.

people are raving about the lakeshore tin plate set colors. i would certainly show some sort of photo before anything happens. it seems with the tin the nicer the color the better it sells.

25 in LCCA colors and 25 in Milwaukee Road there might be a chance of geting this made.

This is what I really said. Bob slightly misquote me as he is a MR fan. Now is that possible?

paint masks are a problem for tin. to do a milwaukee version it requires hand masking and could cause a quality control issue. Im working on a solution. by the way LIONEL HAD THE BRUTE BUT THE LCCA VERSION WILL BE THE GOLIATH!

The Proto version SHOULD definitely be P 3.0 (sans battery), since changing the battery on a Brute is a BEAR of a job!

Almost complete disassembly is required to access the battery in the cab section of this engine. There is always the chance of scratching paint during such a take-it-apart process!  What were they thinking?

When/and if my battery dies, my Brute will become a "shelf queen"!

Someone in MTH's engineering dept. should have included a "trap door" access port on the Proto 2.0 version!

I'M SENDING THIS TO MTH NOW. THANKS LOUIE

I won't be in the market, since the Brute is too big for my layout (I can run a Super 381 but not a Brute), but I'll toss out a thought on color for the rest of you to chew over. How about BLACK? After all, the Brute is a Bi-Polar, which was originally painted black. Imagine something the size of the Brute in solid black with shiny brass or nickel trim. Impressive? Maybe even intimidating. Just a thought. I'm currently in the process of painting my 381E black (don't have a heart attack, it's a Williams repro).

WELL GUYS THE COLOR IS 2013 CADDY SRX BLACK RAVEN with a red/maroon color stripe on the trim piece above the frame. The frame will be chrome plated with poished gold/brass accents to match the doors etc. The engine will shine like the jewel of the Nile and made in two versions. one with electronics the other without.

this locomotive is aimed towrd those folks who love and can afford to purchase this product. Its not for everyone.

the art is being drawn up now. I will put it out there for all to see. IF we don't get 50 pre orders that will be it for STD GAUGE. Our engine will also have the name Goliath on the thin red stripe. i may or may not add Milwaukee rd markings.

thanks

i still haven't found decals i like in Milwaukee.

Lou,

I have had similar problems finding large Milwaukee Road decals. Therefore, to get large Milwaukee Road decals printed up, I suggest you look for a local sign or print shop with a digital scanner and an ALPS printer.  As you may know the latter is critical if you want to reproduce on water-slide decal paper the "white" in the Milwaukee Road's logo.

If such a sign or print shop is not available in your area, then you may want to consider placing an order for large Milwaukee Road decals with an online decal firm such as Bedlam Creations at:

http://www.bedlamcreations.com/index2.htm

or Tango Papa Decals at:
http://www.tangopapadecals.com/

I personally haven't used them "yet", but others have with good results.

Bob
